Employers to Increase Workforces by 29%

Almost a third of UK employers anticipate being in a position to take on more permanent members of staff over the next year, a recent survey has revealed.
Not only do employers foresee being able to grow their full-time workforce, but figures from JobsOutlook also show that a third of them envisage upping their use of temporary staff over the next year, both signs that economic confidence is slowly but surely starting to be restored.
As Roger Tweedy, director of research for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said, “The encouraging news is that medium term optimism remains relatively strong and this is likely to be a good indicator of underlying sentiment.”
Recent research has revealed that a notable percentage of employees that are looking to change their employer for the first time in recent years and that this should have a positive impact on the recruitment market, adding renewed impetus to what has been a somewhat dwindling industry during the recession and enable it to regain some of its former buoyancy.
A proportion of the newly anticipated positions are expected to be available in the capital, particularly as Holiday Inn – headquartered in London – has announced its expansion plans and as InterContinental has revealed its desire to open a further 35 hotels in the country within the next three years.
And with renewed vigour in the employment as well as the hospitality industry, demand for increased staffing within the catering sector will no doubt witness a simultaneous increase, with the need for efficient, reliable catering equipment also growing in line with this.
