Blumenthal Makes An Event of Catering

‘Experimental chef’ Heston Blumenthal, so called because of his creative approach to food, has cemented an ‘exclusive relationship’ with London-based event caterer, Rhubarb Food Design.

Under the new agreement, Blumenthal and his development team will act in a consultative capacity for Rhubarb, advising on both creative and technical aspects of the latter’s business, while also coming up with new menus and imaginative new ideas on ways that Rhubarb can present its food.

The new deal represents a fantastic opportunity for both parties, with Blumenthal able to enter the event catering world and Rhubarb able to tap into his unique creativity and experience at first-hand and thereby offer its prestigious event clients a tasty new angle on its food provision and presentation.

Speaking of the “synergy” Blumenthal has with the brand and his “creative and unique” approach, the chairman for Rhubarb, Clive Beharrell, commented, “For a long time now we have taken inspiration from chefs throughout the world. However time and again we found ourselves coming back to Heston.”

With respect to what the agreement holds for him, Blumenthal said that it “opens a whole new world of creative opportunity.” He elaborated that restaurants by their very nature are faced with limitations and that he had been hoping for some time for the chance to work with a business such as Rhubarb.

Based in London, Rhubarb has fixed contracts within some of the capital’s most well-respected venues, including The Saatchi Gallery, The Royal Albert Hall and the Silver Sturgeon.
