Energy Saving Tips For Refrigeration

Commercial refrigeration is designed to work hard, as any commercial application will always demand a lot of any piece of equipment. the compressors and general manufacture of commercial refrigeration is very different from that of domestic units. When you consider a domestic unit could be opened and closed a maximum of four or five times a day, a commercial unit could be opened twenty five times in an hour. This means more effort from the inner workings of the piece and for this reason commercial refrigeration is designed to be more efficient and more economical. A fine example is the range from Foster Refrigeration, the Eco Pro range is not only a fantastically well made range but also operates in an efficient and effective manor.

All this being said many of us dont help our units. We have compiled a list below of some things you can do on your site to help your commercial refrigeration along and not ask it to do more than it actually needs to:-

  • Always think about where you are placing the unit, poor ventilation can lead to a unit working much harder to keep its temperature, avoid blocking any ventilation panels.
  • Watch the temperature never position a piece of refrigeration near hot cooking equipment.
  • Don’t fill the unit up too much, overloading a unit effects the air flow inside limiting the equipments ability to chill.
  • Always ensure the door is shut properly and any seals are in good condition.

These are just a few simple steps you can follow to help your unit run better.
