New ESB Mobilisation Audit Launched to Aid Caterer

The European Safety Bureau (ESB), an independent food safety and health & safety consultancy service that offers professional support and training to clients in the hospitality industry, has set-up a new Mobilisation Support Audit.

The Audit has been created in order to assist businesses with the traditional problems encountered when developing new catering operations.

Common factors include issues relating to the location of new premises and the level and standard of equipment needed. Of greater concern perhaps, particularly to those new to the industry, are concerns over safety in the workplace. The Mobilisation Support Audit will also provide advice and assistance on the numerous other stresses and strains that are often experienced by entrepreneurs opening new establishments.

Derek Gardner, chief executive of the ESB, said “At a time when the compensation culture is an ever-present threat and businesses are facing both rising insurance premiums and an increasing risk of costly civil litigation, we have identified a need to help clients during those critical, first few days of a new operation. This is when there is significant potential for non-compliance with current food safety and health & safety legislation and, consequently, the business is at greatest risk. Our new Mobilisation Support Audit will help to reduce this risk”.

The Bureau already has a high-profile client list that includes caterers such as English Rose Hotels, Whites Bar & Restaurant, Gravetye Manor Hotel, Intercontinental Park Lane Hotel and Restaurants at Work. However, with the new Mobilisation Support Audit, it hopes to further extend its market reach.
