Secured supplier is no thorn in RHS’ side

Under a recent announcement, it transpires that event supplier Thorns Group has been selected to provide furniture hire and catering equipment to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show.

Within the four-year agreement, the event-focused equipment specialist will offer furniture and catering equipment to meet the requirements of the prestigious horticultural celebration’s various elements, from its media centre and hospitality areas to its restaurants and exhibition halls.

Thorns is already a long-term supplier to the RHS event, which this year ran from 24-29 May and attracted a reported 157,000 visitors. However this latest agreement solidifies the longevity of its partnership and charts a concrete path for the forthcoming few years.

Claire Whitecross, sales director for the company, commented, “We have built-up a successful relationship with the Royal Horticultural Society and continued to deliver innovative product ranges that suit the calibre of the high-profile show. This year we provided our Tia Range and Lorenzo Chairs which created the ‘wow-factor’ that the public expected.”

Thorns Group has a long-standing history rooted in numerous notable events in the UK, including associations with the world-famous PSP Southampton Boat Show, World MotoGP, Grand Designs exhibitions, Wimbledon and Twickenham football ground, to name but a few.

The group, which operates from London, Birmingham and Manchester, not only supplies furniture, equipment and expertise to the UK’s events, conference and exhibition industries, but also engages in numerous smaller-scale events such as weddings, private parties and assorted family occasions.
