Jamie’s Scottish Restaurant Runs Out of Ingredients

It has been suggested that Jamie Oliver’s new Italian restaurant in Glasgow is in need of more restaurant workers and suppliers, as customers have reportedly been turned away because the outlet was running out of ingredients to use in it’s catering equipment.

Having opened just three weeks ago in the Scottish capital, the restaurant is said to have been “crazy”, according to a local reporter. Because of such high demand, Jamie’s apparently ran short of many staple ingredients on the menu, such as seafood, salad and bread. A spokesperson for the business is also alleged to have said that the restaurant also ran out of desserts and that the situation was getting worse. In the end the venue ran dry of too many things to be able to offer a full menu choice and one evenig was even forced to close early!

Back in May, a proposed new Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Bristol was expected to create over 80 jobs in the area, with a number of these being chef positions.

In other hospitality industry and employment-related news, Travelodge has created over 140 summer jobs as a result of its acquisition of more than 50 Innkeeper’s Lodges. Amongst the total number of positions created, or being sought, are 40 hotel manager posts as well as numerous night porter, cleaner and receptionist jobs, all designed for “enthusiastic, motivated and committed individuals”.

Travelodge will be investing a reported £10 million in converting its newly-acquired hotels to bring them into line with company standards.
