The commercial griddle (or Plancha) is one of the most functional, versatile and practical items in the kitchen.

They provide a surface to cook a wide selection of foods ranging from steaks all the way through to omelettes, vegetables and fish.

Available in either a gas or an electric variety we are able to source a number of different types of griddle. That includes those with either a cast iron, glass ceramic, vitro-ceramic, mild steel or a stainless steel plate.

Slanted, flat or ribbed plate griddles are also available to choose from, depending on your cooking requirements.

Cast Iron is a very popular cooking surface as it’s highly durable and retains heat well. This is perfect if you’re constantly cooking. However, it needs occasional seasoning to prevent food from sticking. In addition, cast iron can be very heavy, so may not be suitable if you need to regularly move the griddle between different locations.

Steel is possibly the most common plate material, mainly due to its fast heat up and easy-clean non-stick surface.

Chromed griddle plates are essentially a more premium steel plate. By having a chromed finish, the surface is highly effective at transferring heat to the food and emits less heat into the kitchen. In addition, the polished effect means it’s particularly useful for preventing delicate foods sticking to the plate.
