Beer there drunk that: The importance of good beer

Have you ever assessed how you are serving your beer? Take into consideration the glass you serve up the suds to customers with? Or even just what type of beer you are serving?

Well, either way, the perfect pint is not really that difficult to attain.

From the way you store the drinks you serve to the vessel you serve your alcoholic drinks in, you really do need to wow your customers from end-to-end.

Beer drinkers especially are becoming much savvier, gone are the days when one lager, one bitter and a stout were enough of a choice.

Good beer is now almost expected. The rise of brands such as BrewDog and other copycats is a continuing trend.

Pubs and bars now need variety, customers want nuanced ales, European and world lagers all available to taste and tantalise. Local is always a winner, consumers want a taste of the locale, supporting businesses and brewers in your region is a great way to increase the trust of those handing over their hard earned cash.

You may have heard of the Campaign for Real Ale or CAMRA for short, they help pubs, bars and other establishments by promoting them to the 150,000+ members of the organisation around the United Kingdom.

Having approval from organisations such as this, or serving CAMRA approved brewers is a great way to offer the ‘real ale’ crowd a place to congregate — and therefore spend money on your premises.

Even if you’ve got great beers, you need to make sure your service is up to scratch. It doesn’t matter how good a pint you pull if the glass you serve it in is dirty, scuffed or just past it’s best.

Fresh glassware is a must, some breweries will provide you with specialist vessels designed specifically to enhance the taste. For everything else, we can help. Tankards, conical, traditional, dimpled, we have one of the widest selections available.

If you plan on serving bottled beer, then you will need to make sure you serve your drinks cold. A standard fridge will usually suffice, but that won’t entice punters to part with their cash as easily. Bottle coolers provide not only exceptional cooled storage but put your bottled drinks directly in a prominent and easily visible position for people to pick.

Make sure you have considered every option to enhance the chances of guests spending.

If food is your main business, then try and find beers that compliment your menu, even adding recommended drinks to pair with dishes could help you sell even more as customers seek a complete eating and drinking experience.

2017 is the year of good beer. So why compromise?
